Is there a trick to getting the second Wiimote to recognize? The game is saying that I need two remotes when I already have two. Its really pissing me off.

Come play with my Wii!
I had this same problem. I solved my problem by making sure I pressed a button on the second remote to "activate it" before I put the game in. That cured it for me.

I know for the shooting game you can only do two player so if you have three connected it won't let you play it. Make sure you've synched your remotes to your wii as well by pushing the red button by the SD card slot on your wii and then pushing the red button on your wiimote under the battery cover. Do that for all your wiimotes if you haven't already.
