I understand that the TW series has never attempted to be a golf simulation but it seems to me that it's time to think about that option in the game. What bothers me the most is the simplistic "lie" algorithm.
The type of ground and the slope of the ground only reduce the shot power by a percentage. Often I can still spin the ball from a bad lie. The slope of the ground in links 2003 affects the targeting of the shot.
Links 2003 also had an excellent course designer that had some very nice user created courses. Mike Jones made the best ones.
I love the wiimote TW golf but when I want a truly immersing and competitive game I'll probably go back to links 2003. On the other hand My girlfriend would never play links 2003 though and she will play TWs.
