Get to the boss with many machine gun or automatic pistol ammo, get the 4 rockets near the boss.. shoot the head, and while tentacles are breaking the concrete shoot to the tentacles before they get to the surface to stop them from striking you. Takes some practice but then it is easy. Need to get an A in that level to unlock Death Door which unlocks the final stage Dark Legacy 2 to beat the game

try just using a bunch of ammo instead of shooting the barrels, then when it starts he'll start out next to the barrels, shoot them, and his health will drop subsantially
