I'm in no way saying it's impossible, I beta tested the PC version of FFXI, so I knew about the different platforms that the game was available for. But you named two MMO's out of how many? That's all I'm saying...

There's obviously something there that either puts console gamers off, or in general, won't fit on a console. If it were on the same level, I'm sure we would have seen more than the two you mentioned (or close to two)

I like PSO anyways i believe animal crossing will be at least very similar to an mmo maybe a bit different, smaller? They said people of broad ranges weren't computer literate enough but previously a game designer said they were interested in using mobile devices. True mobile devices are more familiar to society but it's much more complex to pull that off than an mmo. So my point is even if it's not an mmo, it could still be pretty good. It's got to have online so i think they will make it where you can visit your friends using friend codes, you know nintendo being overly protective. SO you can still have the mmo concepts and feel but to a smaller degree. That is what i think they will do. (thanks for read that long statement.)

After entering about 40 endless ocean friend codes I'm quite annoyed by the friend code system. Its simply a stupid hassle. I don't see why games don't use the wii friend codes instead of all of them having their own. Sorry for the random unrelated rant.

I'm still stuck on why they use them at all. At best, they're worthless. At worst, they actually harm children (who just take them online and meet new strangers they never would have otherwise had contact with who can use FCs to lure kids) while preventing adults (who don't have the time to harvest FCs) from being able to participate. Games are supposed to be fun, not work.

I want more MOHH2 style gaming on my Wii (MS Allegiance springs to mind), though I don't care too much about MMO, either way I wouldn't want Nintendo developing it. They'd just find a way to suck all the fun out of it.

thats why i hope 3rd party developers fix this. EA noticed it. lets hope other companys can like hopefully square enix and final fantasy crystal bearers.
and that pretty much elminates all chances of a new zelda since no mmo's

That's what they said about consoles and the FPS. Until someone made one that actually worked well (Goldeneye, Halo, etc.). It's not the genre it's the game, it's just going to take a good developer with a good vision to make that golden MMO that makes people stop and say "hey, I guess they DO work on consoles too!"

mmo's dont work on consoles as you cant type or type fast and mmo's need people to comunicate fast in wars etc.

it also dosent work as theres a hell of a lot of functions, hotkeys trying to use must be hard.

and why not a new zelda game?

an mmo will be done on 360 or ps3 far before it can get on the wii. its not all about choice, theres many technical issues and the wii has the most. no one shouldve been expecting an mmo in the first place from the wii.

Everything in this signature except for this text was made by Wiired, he is my creator and almighty.

see that's exactly what I'm talking about. we don't think it'll work now, because we have a hard-wired definition of what an MMO should/has to be.

All it'll take is a developer with a different approach to show us differently.
The key components of MMO are multiplayer, and online...everything else is just pre-imposed upon the genre...it doesn't HAVE to have any of those other things, it's just that many of them DO so we often think they HAVE to.

Just like when people try to define RPG, they say "oh well to be an RPG it must have magic, spells, experience points be set in old times with leather and gold and blah blah blah blah". But all an RPG means is role-playing game, there is no time period or subject matter that it MUST contain in order to be categorized as such. If we are getting literal here, ALL games are really RPGs because they put you into the role of someone else.

We just need to cast aside these pre-determined paradigms and be open to the fact that what we "know" can be presented to us in many ways.
