Well from what your saying you said DDR ram is low cost

and yes you can up the RAM and all without changing the architecture
The problem is Nintendo started it's architecture with a different type of RAM (not DDR) so basically if you go for 2GB DDR2 it's not just upgrading it's changing architectures

and basically Nintendo isn't ready to make that move no one would really be willing to give up a library of games for their next console just so they can up the RAM and all...

Plus the Wii HD is suppose to be

A 2x faster Wii (Only because it needs to be 2x faster to output and render HD graphics) + HD Gaming

Nothing else

People buy the Wii because of it's awesome gaming structure but the lack of HD is kind of also a dealbreaker when it comes to the $199 pricepoint (the Xbox 360 is available in that price)

I heard you the first time. I was not saying ddr but what ever it uses. If it doesn't use ddr ram fine but what ever it does use can be upped with harming current library. Just add more of what ever it is called that they use now.

Oh I forgot to address that...

Two problems
1. They're using expensive RAM
2. The OS only supports a small amount of RAM not that much (not sure but it doesn't support over 512MB)

Plus what's the point of upping the RAM? and graphics card?

The Wii HD specs are put to the lowest it can just so it can display HD graphics, Wii experience, and get all of these at low cost

The specs can allow playing Wii games converted to HD at 40-60FPS

Like many manufacturers they are trying to get the most quality products at lowest prices

Cause even a one-cent increase in manufacturing cost can affect a enterprise business by a margin

If games run well on specs that cost relatively low yet are fast and almost on par then what's the point of increasing RAM? It's not going to run Crysis LOL

yes use the edit button. And the point is everyone says wii graphics suck so don't buy it. If they were better then everybody would just shut up. Or they can make 2 versions and let people decide.
