I got a reply from Nintendo (answers to Wii problems).....

Here is some answers I got for some questions I asked a while back. Some may find interesting.

    > 1) What wireless standard does the Wii use? b/g is not enough as thats 2
    > different standards. I want to know if the Wii can connect wirelessly
    > using the g standard or is it limited to the b standard only?

First, you asked about which standard the Wii console is compatible with. The Wii is compatible with both the 802.11b and 802.11g standards. It is not limited to the b standard only.

    > 2) Its impossible to set up many email addresses for use with the Wii.
    > From about 5 email addresses I tried only one set up and is able to
    > send/recieve messages to the Wii (a gmail account). Hotmail email address
    > can setup and confirm but cannot send or recieve messages after that
    > (spam filter is off). Emails with @kolumbus.fi endings do not even recieve
    > the confirmation email (again no spam filtering). Can you comment on this
    > as I wonder if the @wii.com servers have too strong filters set up...

We are aware of occasional problems with sending and receiving e-mail on the Wii console and are working towards a resolution. At this time, we don't have any further information than that; however, I will forward along your feedback.

    > 3) The manual clearly states that one can re arrange contacts in the
    > address book by holding down a+b and dragging. This feature does not work
    > with the current firmware. Is this a known issue that will be addressed?

The note in the manual about moving the entries in the address book is a misprint. This is possible with the channels, but not with the address book entries.

    > 4) The manual is a little confusing when it comes to the way the blue tray
    > light operates. From how it is written it implies it should be lit up when
    > a disc is in the slot. I understand you address this mistake online in the
    > FAQs/guides but I kind of like the light and think its a good idea for it
    > to be used as a way of telling if a disc is in the drive or not. As
    > younger children will be using the Wii its a good idea to have an easy
    > way for them to tell if a disc is in rather than having them trying to
    > force a disc into the Wii when one is already in there.

Finally, the blue disc slot light will briefly flash on when a disc is inserted if the power is off at the time the disc is inserted. We appreciate your feedback, and will forward it along to the appropriate departments.

Wow that actually sounds way better than when most companies reply to people...Sounds like a real person wrote it instead of some robotic, generic answer.
