System update

Does anyone know why when i try to do the system update after you have first got a internet connection it freezes after it's got 1/4 of the way done?
Please help

ive been havin problems with that system update aswell..you think i should reset my wii?

it takes a while, right when the update process begins, when it just has a little bit of completion and looks like it stops there, it is really checking your current version, I know this because it comes out that far before saying you are already updated if there are no new updates, if you have it sit, it should finish

every when is there new updates and games or is it just at randonm times, and is there any new channels coming out?

I think it's just random times as last Sunday I had to reset my internet connection and at the end of testing the connection it did a system update, usually it tells me I already got the update but it didn't this time.
