If you were going to buy component cables for your wii which would you choose?

I'm using the penguin cables, and they work as well as any. If memory serves, they were $10.00 or so plus $3.00 shipping.

A few days after they arrived, I saw the same cables, though in hard clear packaging, at BestBuy for $29.95.

Now the same cables are available at meritline.com for $8.99 and free ship.

    BTW, cables are cables.

Sorry, newb question, but what's the point of component cables? What's wrong with the cables the Wii ships with?

Component cables basically provide better image quality and definition. Here are comparison pics: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6162297/p-2.html

To clarify, there's nothing wrong with the cables which ship with the Wii, but they are simple composite cables. IF your display (television, LCD screen, whatever) accepts component input, though, you can use component cables (the cable has three video outs, two audio outs) and obtain a higher resolution display.

Nintendo sells a component cable, as do many third parties. Assuming the cable is put together decently, given the short cable run, you'd not notice any difference between any of the choices beyond the price tag.
