    Wii Sports Controllers

Are these controllers just another Japannese fad or will stuff like this take off ?

I think game makers could make a killing by actually creating specific add-ons for games , ie guns etc and sell them with the game , not sure how it might work but just an idea.

    Found at CoolAsFunk

Look really gimmicky to me. Do people have that poor of an imagination that they need to attach a cheap piece of white plastic to their Wii remote to imagine swinging a baseball bat, tennis racket or golf club?

Save your money for a new Wii game imo.

Actually, it may not be the problem of imagination. Yes, most of us can swing the bat with the wii controller, but having a bat with a bit more weight and acceleration, it could help your hitting distance. The farther away from your hand the more acceleration you can give the wiimote.

Fair enough. I just find that I tend to end up with far too many accessories with my systems. Take my 64 for example:

5 controllers (one offbrand, purchased at launch when first party controllers were rarer than a Halo fan with a girlfriend)
    Game Shark
    30+ games
    30+ manuals
    30+ game boxes
    4 rumble packs
    3 memory cards
    Game Boy game pack adapter
"Hey You Pikachu" microphone w/controller adapter

That's a lot of loose junk to keep with a system. In retrospect, I could have done without a lot of that crap. I'd imagine the bat/club/racket adapters would be a fun novelty for a couple days, and would then live the rest of their mortal lives in a dark storage bin.

I do agree that it would be a neat gift for a young Wii gamer (read: child).
