Really? I thought only Plasma or LCD TVs could support ED and HD.
Do they make EDTVs with the 19:3 format? Because I can only find LCDs or Plasmas with widescreen.

iirc, samsung do a CRT which supports high def. i'm unsure as to what
connections it offers, though i'd guess that it's component rather than
    HDMI.

problem is, the picture geometry is shit compared to an LCD.

also...480p is f*****g shed loads better that 480i.

i originally had my Wii on 576i (worst PAL resolution) and changing
over to 480p is noticeably better. pity the PAL Wii doesn't support
576p, that would be even better.

    100? what?!

    you need Component cables.

Make sure your tv can take them (most likely)

@Zarogan: No, there are CRT HD and ED TVs and they generally have a better picture quality than LCD, in fact I have a 30" CRT HDTV in my living room.

But do they make 16:9 compatible CTR TVs? I'd love to play my wii in widescreen.

Some HDTVS have trouble displaying certain reolutions so 480i might suck at your tv. The cable is only like $10.....

What if, on a crowded street, you look up and see something appear that should not, given what we know, be there. You either shake your head and dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than we think. Perhaps it really is a doorway to another place. If you choose to go inside you may find many unexpected things."-Miyamoto

Yes. Mine is, and most HDTVs are. There are also some SDTVs that are 16:9.
