I ran the update through Wii Options, and got 3.0e
Everything works a treat !

I think anyone who is knowledgable enough to mod their wii, knows what it means to brick their system.

I'd have to disagree with that... Anyone with a triwing screwdriver and a soldering iron can easily mod the wii in an hour or 2. I modded mine and had no idea what bricking it was until a month or 2 later (fortunately I never screwed myself over). Anyways, this should be a good helpful post for those that want to mod their wiis.

I've got a modded and updated NTSC version. Recently my children inserted a homebrewed Mario Supercharged Football and there was this update process that needed to be completed, which I did. Luckily for me, my Wii is still alive.
Thank god.

Was I simply lucky or does this mean that I won't have to worry abt updates, ever? Hmmm...I wonder.
