Clean Chip Install Options: what cable to use

I have seen 3 type of installs of a wii chip, that i would like to do/try. But i have two doubts.

On implementation number 1, which looks very "clean" and simple, my doubt is that if the cooling air, that more or less could be hot, won't be a problem, here is the image:


On implementation number 2, my doubt is, what type of cable do i need to buy? It looks like the flat IDE hard disk type.


The last one, is similar than the 2nd one, and i was told it was SCSI cable. But i don't have SCSI, what cable should/could i use?
