The eternal living wiimote

I was goin to play ssb melee and turned the wii on and i threw the wiimote on the couch wen i started playin, but wen i was done i turned it off manually, but the mote was still on and i tryed to turn the wii on with it but it did not work so i turned it on manually and used the wiimote to turn it off and now everything is fine. has anyone else had this problem

Sometimes the wii crashes and stays on when you turn power off to the wii, notice you turn it off, but it seems to turn off twice when playing a GC game?
But anyway, yeah, it isn't much of a problem.
