Wii Remote will not power on

My remote stopped working today..
No lights, nothing.
Replaced the batteries but still nothing.

Did the whole power off console and resync but still nothing.
Its almost like its dead.

Wii Support had a suggestion of taking batteries out for 1 minute, repla cing them and then waiting a few seconds before trying remote. That didnt work either.

Did my remote just die?

Both mine did this a couple of days ago mate. Just switch your Wii off, unplug it, leave it about 5 mins and then try again.

Yes, I believe it did. One light did on mine. (The Player 4 light.)

I did synch once before and it didnt work. it finaly worked after unplugging the wii and then syncing it.
