    Coming in Black and White

    We plugged in our Wii using component cables to an HD TV but we have no color, only black and white. The cables are plugged in correctly and I know the cables are good because we use the same ones on a PS2 in addition we can only select 480i while the 480p is grayed out/disabled. If we use the standard cable (yellow/red/white) we have color and it works fine. Any suggestions on getting the component cable to work? Everything is plugged in correctly and the cables and TV are good.

    You use the same component cables for Wii and PS2? That doesn't sound right o.O

    T3kNi9e is right, the Wii has its own type of cable, you can't use other consoles' cables with it... :S Do you mean you have one of those universal cables, with several different connectors on it (e.g. one for Wii, one for 360 and one for PS2/3)? If that's the case, it could be that the Wii connector is dodgy while the PS2 one is fine, which would explain why it works properly with your PS2.
