Duh, USB Flash Drives for savegames?

"2. Does it have external memory support?

Yes, the Wii has external slots for 2x USB2.0 and 1x SD memory card."

Uuuuh does that mean my 1gb USB flash drive will work, as well as my SD cards?

Not necessarily, flash drives still use drivers, and they aren't necessarily going to work with the Wii's firmware.

    Right. I figured a U3 drive, for example, would be a no-go.

I suppose, like the GP2X, users will create a compatability list on a wiki somewhere...

They rock, don't they? Anyway, I digress. But I already have SD memory cards for it, so I'm all set for the Wii.

Unfortunately. I never leave home without my U3 drive. The nice thing is that i also never leave home without at lease 2 SD cards on my person.

I'm sure someone will eventually come up with a ware that can allow USB thumb drive memory for the wii.

Now I'm just waiting for some Chinese bootleg company to get through that proprietary jack for the component cables...argh..i hate that.

No, it won't work... yet. For instance, connect your flash drive to the Wii's usb slot, you may get power, but no support. Same thing with a keyboard, I was able to get power, just no support for it.
