    Do the state of the game, let's say I've completed 5 levels in donkey kong, do they stay when I copy them to the SD card or is all game save data deleted and I have to start over?

    game saves and the game itself are different files on the wii.

    so if you delete the game itself, you do not lose your last save (i think)
