Using the Classic Controller to play GameCube games

There has to be a way to do this through a future system update. I mean, all of the buttons that the GC controller has are there. The reason I wanna use the Classic Controller is I hate cords, and even if I didn't, the GC controller hooked up to my Wii don't reach the couch unless I move my Wii a few feet.

Was annoyed when I found out the classic wouldnt work with gamecube games, Though you could get the gamecube wavebird controller, thats wireless its a pretty good remote to boot as well.
