Wiimote shutdowns

I have 4 wiimotes, and 3 of them seem to have an issue with randomly shutting down, constantly. I have changed batteries, I have sync'ed, I have been reading about as much as my poor brain can take.

What seems to happen is if I twist of move the controller it will shut down, so I was thinking the battery was moving a little bit and causing it to shut down. But even holding the battery they continue to shut off.

Is it time for 3 new controllers?
