    Nintendo Wifi adapter question

    Hey all. I have the usb Wifi adapter working fine. My question is, does anyone know if I bring home my work laptop (with wireless capabilities) will I be able to connect to the internet through the nintendo wifi??

    Yeah Im pretty sure you can as it broadcasts the signal.

    Thanks, i wasnt sure if Nintendo encripted the signal somehow.

    Yes, the signal is encrypted, and no, you can't connect anything non-Nintendo branded to it.
    ... but what do I know?...

    registerednerd: I thought it was standard 802.11? In which case you'd just need to grab the key for it from somewhere (probably your computers config)

    Yes, it does use 802.11, however, this is just the frequency band it uses, along with WiFi, bluetooth, and a few other standards. It uses the same frequency, but essentially they speak different languages. The Wii and DS just happen to be bilingual in WiFi and Nintendo.
