    Wireless for sure.

Wired and wireless are often nearly the same price
A wireless router also functions as a wired router

Nintendo has a list of officially supported routers if you want to be absolutely sure it works. Are you brave enough to buy an older used router?

Hmm... I've never looked at it to be honest.
Any router should work if designed properly. I'll look for the list but stick to Linksys/Netgear/Dlink for best results.

A 2WIRE. So many problems with it. Nice it has cable and wireless though.

Dude replace that thing. The antennas are notoriously bad in them. Most 2wire routers can be configured into bridged mode!!
