    I guess here there isn't really any wireless signal providers. We have fiber going to almost every house courtesy of the city.

    I know that Nintendo sites say that the Wii supports B/G routers but if you configure the AP to be G only the Wii can't connect.

    I swear I also read that the chip used was B only but dont take that as a fact until I can track it down.

    strange.

    i'm pretty sure my router is set for "g" only....i've got to add another device
    tonight so i'll check and report back.

    Interesting.
    So far I have found out that the wireless card in the Wii uses a Broadcom chip model BCM4318EKFBG mounted in as a separate removable component made by Mitsumi with part DWM-W004. Datasheets for the two seem to be damn near impossible to find so Im going to look through the FCC documents to see if it can help pin down the networking standard it uses.

    can the Wii connect to a PC via a Netgear WG111 802.11g adapter? And would there be any point?
