For some reason I doubt he wants to string cable downstairs.Originally Posted by Mr. person
Other than trying a different channel for the wireless signal for a higher frequency, I can only recommend buying a signal extender from like wal-mart.

I used to have the same problem. router upstairs wii downstairs.
I have a wireless router and all i did was reposition the router and point the antenna toward the wii, (in the basement) and it has worked well since then.
Add me and pm me and ill add you.

the position of the router can be crucial.
if you RTM it will normally advise you to place it in a position
which is not obscured by dense furniture.
other factors include: microwave ovens (in the bedroom?), DECT phones,
uPVC double glazing, central heating radiators. all of these bits of clutter
can degrade your wifi signal.
place the router in a position where the best "line of sight" can be
established, this will aid performance.
and introduce a multitude of new connection problems?Originally Posted by Mr. person
