How do friend codes work with the online play? Do games each have their own code or does it work off of the address book?

PM me if you add me!
I wouldn't know...but I can't imagine you having to put in a friend code to play someone unless you want to play with that specific person. Other than that, I imagine it's just like the DS or any server related game where you sign in and it shows you who is available to play.

Actually Only Nintendo gams uses friend codes.
NFL08 uses regular lobby and friend list for online play.
I know some games for the DS permitted to add friend codes of people you played in ad-hoc. Let's say you battle your friend on Mario Kart by Wireless connexon, it added his friend code so you can play with him online.
That would be great if Nintendo could do a Friend to Friend exchange. I mean, I can only invite my friend to join an online game, and once in the game, those friends could invite their friends....that adding them to you list as well.
