To buy Wii Points Card for internet or no

I am debating whether I want to buy a 1000 point card for the 500 point buying of the "internet" on my Wii. Anyone have suggestions? And another question...is it like a 3 month subscription or is it just 500 points to download the program and then you have it forever? THANKS

its 500 points and the internet channel is urs for good....and u might as well by a 1000 point card so u can get the internet channel and a few VC games
