I've just got my first wii..just learning how to use it....about connecting to the internet....is this free or is there a cost....

There is no additional cost from Nintendo for going online - only the cost from your ISP of providing your connection / bandwidth, which you probably already have for your PC / laptop etc.

A copple of weeks ago i have a new nintendo wii.
I have a wireless router.. brand ; U.S Robotics, Model 5466.
1 laptop wireless on this router, and 3 base pc's on that router but all 3 with internet cable.
Also i have internet on the wii , but the error for a software update i'm still getting ??
So i can not play the latest games example ; donkey kong returns and michael jackson and all in the menu for internet is not possible to goiing in the menu of the wii because of the error update software code 32004

I am SO FRUSTRATED by my Wii.
I've been online via Dynex wireless router for quite a while, watching Netflix movies etc.
All of a sudden I can no longer connect. The only difference between when it worked and now that it doesn't is that I now have an iPhone 4. Is that interfering with my connection?
I'm getting lots of error codes, mostly 52130 (also 52230, 51030).
I've tried adding my IP address manually but I'm kind of confused on exactly what I need to do. My address is 3 digits, 3 digits, 1 digit, 1 digit. The Wii wants 3 digits, 3 digits, 3 digits, 3 digits. I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong place for my IP address or what.
I also tried changing my channel to 1. This did nothing.

Everywhere I search it says this is a firewall issue, but that doesn't make sense. Why would it be OK to use about two months ago but all of a sudden the firewall affects the Wii? That makes no sense. (I turned off my firewall anyway just in case, didn't make a difference).

I have just at Xmas purchased a Wii and also Wii Fit Plus...I am not 100% computer savvy, but have found out that I can connect to the internet via the Wii. I have wireless broadband dsl internet connection (I think thats what its called) . I was wondering if you could assist me in how to connect to the internet via my wii, or point me in the right direction. Many thanks Kathy

as far as i can tell the wires are fine. on a side note my wireless now connects which it didnt before, except it wouldnt connect in a game. would still like to figure out why my lan stopped working.

i have a dlink dir 655 router and ive also went to the dlink forums for help with my problem. after the wii has found the router it asks me for a wpa security key which i dont have. anyway im getting 52130 error codes on the wii and ive also gotten 51130 codes or something like that. i also have one of thise lan adapters which when connected to the wii and the router i get an error code on the wii. i am getting really frustrated. any help would be greatly appreciated.
