Wireless router WEP key issues

So I connected my Wii to connect to the internet via my wireless router. When setting it up, just for connection testing, I didn't enable any wireless security and it works totally fine. However, after I enabled the WEP security the Wii would not connect to the network despite trying many different keys generated by the WEP.

I am using a Linksys BEFW11S4 with firmware version 1.52.02. My Wii is running version 4.2U.

What can I do to enable the security and still connect? Also, if I can't get that to work, will restricting MAC address access through the wireless network work in the same way?
