ShiftFallout is right as of now PS3 is the cheapest blu-ray player but it is not advertised enough so people are blowing money on just a blu-ray player which I think really sucks when they could have a PS3 even if they barely use it it's free wi-fi

lol everyone will talk when they see there paychecks getting smaller... its a wait and see type of thing... no one knows its all based on opinion none have been out long enough to even really judge them yet... the numbers mean nothing in the first couple years

in the end its up to the consumer, not the people that makes the products....

you can be more advanced, cheeper, higher supply.. just bust out a history book.. none of that matters in the end the consumer will decide whats better... plenty of examples especially for electronics over the years...

    Wii&PS3-

"Leave the fanboyism at the door" rule works both ways. Why did you highlight this article? Just to entice an argument against the Wii?! There's no reason for this, specially on a PS3 board. Everyone complains about Nintendo fanboys ruining the PS3 boards and you are just adding to the problem.

Anyways, back to the article. I think he makes a lot of thoughtful and valid points, but with equal amounts of opinions and predictions.

Don't forget that the future of Insomniac is largely dependent upon Sony's success...may be the reason why he's pissed with the amount of negative press Sony has been getting lately. (which has been relentless)

But really, what's going on with developers lately?! They should spend less time voicing their opinions and show us those AAA titles that'll prove everyone wrong...

Why would people have bothered getting a dvd if they could watch it on a cheaper VHS. The point hes making is that Blue ray itself is not bad, and there is a GROWING market for it. Keyword is "growing". If people do want a blue ray player, they will get the cheapest one they can find, right now that seems to be the PS3. I dont know of any gamer who doesnt like movies also.

    So there you have it
I think you're (correcting your mistake there) missing the point altogether. My sarcasm was directed toward the belief that people will buy a ps3 so they can watch casino royale on blu-ray. When for 400+ I could go see it in the cinema 57 times , in far superior quality and surround sound. Or I could just use that money to host a big wii party. In reality the article that was first posted, was clearly an unbias non-sony associated blog , as that company have never made ps2 exclusive games, and whilst the fanboy wii&ps3 probably sat there and thought about how he could try and stir up a flamewar on wiichat, and eventually concluded on that article, I'm sure anyone here could find anything in the media that is highly positive towards nintendo. Truely though, I believe (and i'm sure many high ups in sony also believe) that the ps3 is actually in fact a media player, that just happens to play games.

    So there have that.
    Post is there ^^^
How dare you state a different point of view, you complete fanboy! /sarcasm

Top 10 Reasons Sony will fail with the PS3.

1-10: It's too expensive for game developers and consumers.

Not developers as much as consumers, but that definitly has been a factor in alot of the exclusive companies that left sony. It costs more but companies like Rare can handle it. But some of the smaller ones wont like it.

Gundam was $8 million for it's budget. The average game for the PS3 costs far more than making a game for the Wii. Game developers are barely able to make even on high budget games. Thus more multi platform games. The industry itself now has budgets that exceed Hollywood movies like LOTR. Companies are coming out and saying games like Spider Man 3 have to sell a few million copies just to break even.

The average game sells around a few hundred thousand copies.
