Pandoras Battery psp.

Hey i just bought a magic memory stick and pandoras battery from ebay now it hasnt arrived yet i was wondering if anyone is familar with this?

If so my question is... i have read a few threads sayin i need a older psp with 1.50 to create the battery but what if i already have the battery cant i just pop it in with the magic mem stick and go or will i need to find the 1.5 version of the PSP?
