There isn't an infrastructure mode that lets you connect "anywhere", so unless you're talking ad-hoc like nxcmp said, you're wrong.

I mean like a wi-fi mode that allows people to go on the internet if they're in like a car or plane or something.

That would be called Wi-MAX or EVDO. You can set it up say with a laptop. Put the EVDO PCMCIA card into a laptop (provided by Sprint, Verizon for example), and a USB Wifi adapter on the laptop. Enable the WiFi adapter in access point mode, and connect to that via your PSP. (I would encrypt the signal.) You would need to have the WiFi connection on the laptop reroute out the EVDO (Internet).Originally Posted by Dkw0101
Kinda complicated. I do this when I travel.
I use Sprint EVDO and an Airlink USB WiFi adapter. (For encryption I use is WEP 64-Bit w/ MAC Address Filtering) The laptop doesn't have to be very powerful either. Mine does not have internal wifi (hence the USB adapter) is 800mHz CPU, 512Mb RAM, 30Gb Hard Drive, Windows XP.
