    You're correct, I just meant that Hilda/Rosa would probably use the Gen V starters if they were to appear. Thus why I think they should get their own slot. But again, rethinking it, maybe N is more likely then them in the first place. I seem to have neglected to take into account his popularity.

    I don't think popularity is a very decisive factor in Smash Bros.

    It helps get characters in, this is undeniable. I believe Pit, for example, got in due to popular demand. Many get in due to sheer importance, of course.

    It is. The most popular characters get in and are known. The others don't.

    Mario, Link and Kirby are good examples. They are well-known and popular.
