Again, Loser's Bracket is a safety net. Ya don't just throw it away like that; nor would it serve a purpose to do so anyways. Why throw away an easy win against a worse player, only to get knocked out of Loser's Bracket and thus the whole tournament by a top player who was also in Loser's? Top players of the highest level win back 'n forth with each other, the "better" player can end up in Loser's, and there will always be multiple top players in Loser's. Top players can easily get matched with each other long before Finals of any sort lol. A Loser's Bracket is just as dangerous as Winner's Bracket in terms of who you face off against; technically even more dangerous since if you're in Loser's, one more loss means you're done for that tourney.
If aiming for first place is unrealistic for a player, aiming for second is just as unlikely, regardless of what bracket they're in.
