    Does any one know what happens when you tell toad to save the 1 ups for later (when you get a letter from Peach). I did this a couple of times as I was about to shut down the wii. Do they vanish into thin air? Or is there a way to get them?

    Unfortunately not so my friend. I said nope to 3 letters. When I started back up I only got 1 letter with 5 1ups which is normal on start up.

    On another note I've had a long run at the game today 5am and still at it. I think the letters appear after getting 500 starbites and every 500 after. Not 100% on this but it seems to be the case.

    I found it more useful after I saved her from Bowser! Especially once you get to the tricky stars. 20 one ups for Luigi is a little over the top I think.

    Happened to me too...even oder....I started playing the game as luigi just to see if it was actually harder...i get a letter from Peach with 20 1-ups....

    what ever it is i noticed that after you beat bowzer you get the letter a lot more commonly and when i play as luigi its still adressed to mario and you get 20-1ups
