Using an original N64 controller with the VC?

Was just browsing Wikipedia.com, and found a table showing some of the controls for the VC and its corrisponding controls. About halfway down the page, it shows the N64 controls. Interesting...

All that is doing is telling you what buttons on the classic controlled and the GC controller map to on the N64 controller.
The chart below is Genesis, I doubt I can break out my old Genesis controller and make it work.
That aside, there is a reason I do not let students use Wikipedia as a source....

Now, I have no clue what to the validity of using a N64 -> GCN converter, but the chart does not indicate anything.

75% of Wiichat is repeat questions. How do you fix this? Take the search button and make it 512x512, and make it the first thing you see when you enter. That should get it down to 65%.

It will also reduce the activity of the board to the point of looking dead. Why do you people have such a hard time grasping this, and not welcome new members? Let people ask questions and don't jump on them by saying to use the search.
