I Just Discovered my Favorite Part...

The Wii is (Peter Griffin impersonation here) "freakin' sweet"

It has one of my favorite kind of games...top down space shooters

Soldier Blade and Blazing Lasers for TG16 are so fun and there are quite a few more of those games on the vc store...this console makes the retro gamer inside me so happy.

Oh and I can't wait to get R-Type and play it, I hear it's tough

Wii, 2 Remotes, 2 Nunchucks, Classic Controller, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Zelda: TP, Resident Evil 4, Metal Slug Anthology, Guitar Hero III
VC: Mario Bros, Mario Bros 3, Ninja Gaiden II, Sonic 2, Shinobi III, Soldier Blade, Blazing Lasers, Devil's Crush, Lords of Thunder, Harvest Moon, Super Metroid, Castlevania IV, Zelda: Link to the Past, F-Zero GX, Street Fighter II: Turbo, Axelay

R-Type is really good. Soldier Blade is great, but I actually prefer the Star Soldier on the NES. The music that plays when you hit maximum power-ups gets the adrenaline pumping right when you can use it. Beautiful game.

I have also heard good things about the Bonk shooters. Haven't tried them yet though.

Geometry Wars'll be good. I love the 360 version. My favorite TDS was Guerilla War for NES. I loved that game to bits (the mustaches were hardcore lol)
