Latest Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces Details and Screenshots-1.052009-12-17 12:16:35Maura SNamco Bandai has today released six stunning new screenshots from the forthcoming Wii™ game Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, as well as new details about the game, including character profiles. The story is based on a Japanese novel series written by Hiroshi Mori and illustrated by Kenji Tsuruta, first published in June 2001. The novel was adapted into the celebrated anime film, directed by Mamoru Oshii, and released to theaters in Japan in 2008. It went on to win the Future Film Festival Digital Award at the 65th Venice International Film Festival among many other awards, hence the great interest in the forthcoming game not just in Japan but overseas too.
In the game you play a new pilot recruit at the Rostock Corporation. The other main characters are Maumi Orishina, a female rookie pilot, code name Kylie; Kou Ukumori, code name Sprite, a rookie recruited to Cougar Squadron who views war completely objectively and gets on his colleagues nerves apparently!; Mutsuga Yamasaki, the captain of Cougar Squadron, an ace pilot, code name Cougar; Masami Kaida, code name Crossbow, your best friend from training; Kabaya, the commanding officer at Cougar Squadron’s Hariyu base; and Tohochika Mozume, the shadowy ‘suit’ behind the Cougar Squadron project.
Other new details revealed today include the fact that there are three main gameplay modes – Campaign, Free Modes and Tutorials – and that there are 17 missions to play in all, developed by the Ace Combat team, as well as a two-player multiplayer mode. Look for the game in February 2010.
