Madworld may return to the Wii -1.052010-01-12 15:33:58Maura S
Although both Sega and Capcom have recently been quite candid about their disappointment at the poor sales of mature games on the Wii, it would seem that Sega may not yet be prepared to give up the gory ghost according to a report on Official Nintendo Magazine’s website today. Platinum’s Shigenori Nishikawa, the director of violent Wii game Madworld (published by Sega), recently told ONM that he was pleased by how well the first game was received and by the praise heaped on it for its unique visual style and that he would “definitely be interested in making a sequel in the future.”
In the original game, players found themselves caught up in a murderous game created by a terrorist group called The Organizers, where they were forced to compete in ultra-violent mini-games. It certainly pushed the boundaries of anything seen on the Wii previously, and was very well received by the critics, so a sequel would be a very interesting proposition indeed.
