Activision has today released some intriguing screenshots from forthcoming Spider-Man blockbuster Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Due for release in September 2010, the game gives players the chance to travel through four different worlds as very different versions of Spider-Man from four universes across Marvel lore. Two versions have been announced so far: Spider-Man Noir and The Amazing Spider-Man.
Each version of Spider-Man will experience a wide variety of gameplay and dramatic environments unique to that version. The Amazing Spider-Man experience delivers innovative web combat and visuals in a world that pays tribute to the classic era of the legendary super hero. In contrast, Spider-Man Noir features a cunning and covert depiction of Spider-Man, who utilises shadows to perform stealth takedowns in a 1930s-influenced black-and-white cinematic environment.
Written by acclaimed Marvel comic book writer Dan Slott, the plotline takes players on a mission to capture the magical energy of the Tablet of Order and Chaos, which has been shattered and scattered across parallel universes. Along the way, you’ll get to battle fan-favourite villains such as Kraven and a custom, never-before-seen Noir version of Hammerhead. Here’s Rob Kostich, head of marketing, Activision Publishing, talking about the game:
“Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions delivers an original storyline that bridges four unique worlds. Each action-packed universe will have its own detailed art design and thrilling missions, challenging gamers to use new skill sets to defeat enemies as they unlock powerful new moves and progress through the game.”
