Blue Sky Studios’ RIO looks set to be one of the blockbuster family films of the year, and THQ has just announced that it will be bringing the game of the film to the Wii on April 12. RIO is a fast-paced, party-style game inspired by the animated 3D movie. In the game, up to four players get to compete with each other in 40 mini-games, as one of the six playable characters in the film: Blu, Jewel, Pedro, Nico, Raphael, and Eva. Players can compete in five unique modes as they journey through Rio to win first place in the ceremony at the Carnaval. The gameplay enables players to jump in and jump out as they please, making it perfect for parties. Here’s Martin Good, THQ’s executive vice president of Kids, Family and Casual Games, talking about the game:

“RIO’s humour, compelling characters, thrilling story and wonderful music inspired us to create a unique and imaginative game experience.”
