Batman: Arkham Origins Coming to Wii U

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced that it will be releasing a brand new game in the massively popular Batman: Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Origins on all major consoles, including Wii U. The game, which will be released on October 25 worldwide, has been developed by WB Games Montreal, and features an expanded Gotham City, introducing a prequel storyline set several years before the events of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. The action takes place before the rise of some of Gotham City’s most notorious villains, and features a young Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early crime-fighting career. As you progress through the game, you’ll meet many of the important characters in the series for the first time, forging key relationships.

Batman: Arkham is a huge triple-A videogame franchise and we are delighted to expand the experience with Batman: Arkham Origins,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “WB Games Montréal has an incredibly talented team building upon Rocksteady’s award-winning gameplay and technology to deliver a deep, immersive, quality experience fans will love.”

“WB Games Montréal is honoured to have the opportunity to create Batman: Arkham Origins, a new chapter in this amazing franchise” said Reid Schneider, Vice President and Executive Producer, WB Games Montréal. “We are huge fans of the franchise and are committed to creating an experience that offers players more of what they love, as well as the chance to play as a younger Batman within a fresh storyline and expanded world.”

If the Joker in particular lacks an appearance, riots will happen.

Arkham City was pretty decent. Gameplay was kinda like the Assassin's Creed games, but with puzzles and stuff that you'd find in a Zelda game.

Never bothered to play the first, but probably. The combat felt like it had more strategy needed than that of the Creed games. Then there's some pseudo-detective work in the form of puzzles. There's also some sidequests and collectibles with puzzles. It was pretty awesome walking into a museum and being reminded of a Zelda dungeon, though. If memory is correct, you even get a new weapon that lets you progress to the boss.
