If you don't want them to examine everything too closely I would make it look as much as when you purchased it as possible.

Pretty sure they will, stores are very good about returns around the holidays. Some don't even require receipts.

i dont think it happens to self loading bays though, like wii or ps3, because dont thoes keep the disc compact in the place? i could be wrong, this is more of a guess on my part

p.s. i just relized you did say disc tray, so this is more of a wondering question
