It wasn't a rant. It was a passing thought on which I wanted to hear other peoples opinion. Its also not an attempt at a dig at the 360 because although I don't have a 360, my friend does and I play it quite often. I like the 360.

well how about 2 disks, you play the first one (half of the game) to unlock the second and than you play the second dvd to continue further into the game and finish it

    good idea ?

:/ they've been doing that for years.

You just play through 'DVD 1' Until it asks to go to 'DVD 2' , if you try 'DVD 2first itll ask you to go to 'DVD 1' until your up to the right point in the game.

where did you mention multiple discs, i just read the whole post through again
and call it a rant or not, it was, rants arent bad things always a rant is just talking and giving facts about something to prove it otherwise or along those lines

And I still wouldn't define that as a rant. Rant tends to emotionally driven writing (ie having a strong opinion on something)
I don't really have an opinion either way. I'm not planning on buying a 360.

Blu-ray is just flat out going to have slowass access times for a while. It isn't quit ethe same issue with Hd-dvd players which are just modified dvd players. I remember buying a dvd player when it first came out, and then a burner. They had crapass access read speeds then also.

Dual layers can hold about 9GB, or something like that. I have no problem with multiple discs. There were few games that used multiple discs. Final Fantasies are FULL of FMVs that take up a lot of space and that was pretty much it. Other examples are Legend of Dragoon, Xenogears, Xenosaga and a bunch of other RPGs. I would rather High capacity discs next generation than to deal with expensive and unproven formats. Bluray is a good in theory, but Sony is to incompetent to handle something of that magnitude.
