 Nintendo and Sega have today announced that their biggest icons and what used to be revials in the gaming world are joining forces for an upcoming Wii title.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games available for Christmas 2007 will see the two characters join forces compete in events that take place in environments based on the official venues of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Using a supporting cast of characters from the amazing worlds of both Mario and Sonic, gamers will be able to compete as or against a range of lovable personalities including Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Knuckles, Yoshi, Tails and more. Innovative usage of the Wii and DS control systems to maneuver a favourite character will allow players to race the likes of Mario and Sonic down the 100m track, engage in exhilarating rallies in table tennis and churn water in a swimming heat, all while competing for the much sought after gold medal.

The news comes from a press release by Sega Europe Ltd.

It just isnt funny anymore...well actually it never was!!!
Gaming is huge now and gaming resources should stop messing around like this its just irritating!!!
I hate it around the month of March we can no longer trust IGN,EGM,Gamespot ect. to sometime in May!!!

Are you guys dumb? iOn has never posted news before thats a joke. And this was is USA Today. Its real and its happening and I for one am glad. Hopefully Sonic isn't in Brawl and this is Sega's way of making up for it. I can stomach this game a lot mroe than I can stomach the thought of Sonic actually being a character in Brawl.

i was just on ign game wii release date list and so this game i came to wiichat and searched for mario and sonic to read what others thought cuz i am excited

i read in another thread that this means sonic might b in brawl but i doubt that seeing how sega is making this game
either way its cool mario and sonic the two iconic characters that i grew up on in 1 game

Okay i think everybody can stop calling it a prank lol...... Its obvious that it is not a prank. but anyway might be cool. but nintendo will never stop releasing different sigments of mario. I still want to see a MILD shooting mario game though.
