Nintendo have today announced a new development tool called LiveMove.
LiveMove is a new development tool that will allow game developers to program motion-sensing controls far easier - According to Nintendo in a "matter of minutes."
Quote:
|
In essence, the development framework helps the Wiimote "learn" movement patterns in an effort "to move away from indirect digital control to more natural analog control."
|
This will allow for far easier development for 3rd party developers to really utilize the Wiimote capabilities which some have feared in the past could be a problem.
LiveMove is currently available to Wii developers at a cost of $2,500 per seat.

The program looks so easy to use, and should encourage 3rd party developers to make more games and it will be totally different from anything else we have seen, the ps3 has crappy tilting motion to look sideways what a crappy rip off of the wii!!!!
Grrrr can wait for some of ma fav games to come out!!!!!

If this were cheaper, we might have seen some cool homebrew games made for the Wii. Would definately make it even more popular than it already is.

Its still gonna about 10,000 dollars for the devkit. And nintendo only gives out devkits to companies that have a reputable background. Trust me, I've looked into it! Anyways, this is great news, especially the part about more natural analog control. That means that we shouldn't see games with horrible controls!
