The Wii network has now been turned on, and many gaming websites are posting up their first impressions of the Wii Channels and the Virtual Console.
Here's the full launch list:
* Donkey Kong (NES)
* Legend of Zelda (NES)
* Mario Bros. (NES) -- that's not "Super"
* Soccer (NES)
* Pinball (NES)
* Wario's Woods (NES)
* Solomon's Key (NES)
* F-Zero (SNES)
* Sim City (SNES)
* Altered Beast (GEN)
* Sonic (GEN)
* Super Mario 64 (64)
Here's a video run through from a Wired Blog showing the initial update through WiiConnect24 and both the Wii Shop points ordering and the download process of a few NES games.

Joystiq have also managed to get online and download Zelda:

First in the virtual shopping cart: The Legend of Zelda. After a brief download (with Mario waiting screen), we fired up our new Zelda channel and played what appeared to be a pixel perfect replica of the 1986 NES classic. Nice touches: hot pluggable GameCube pad support (we popped in a Wavebird and it just worked) and an embedded instruction manual (just hit the Home button).
Its the original, which most people say is 'Super mario Brothers'. But its just Mario Borthers.
Eeeyyaaahhhh.......
