Default Notable Releases for September 2009

Guitar Hero 5
Release Dates:
  • NA: September 1st, 2009
  • EU: September 11th, 2009
Price: $59.99
Developer: Vicarious Visions
ESRB: Teen

To kickstart the month, Guitar Hero 5 will be released packing in over 80 songs (with DLC to come in the near future) and some new features including the use of a 32GB SD Card, which may hold up to 800 songs. Online will once again be present, bringing as many as eight players at once.

A new feature, exclusive only to the Wii, will be the connectivity between the Wii and DS called "Roadie Battle". In this game mode, each team will have the option to opt in their DS to become a Roadie. Roadies will be able to fend off dangers coming or attack the other user by playing certain minigames on their DS. The Wii user will still use an instrument and play through the song normally.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Release Dates:
  • NA: September 8th, 2009
  • EU: November 2009
Price: $49.99
Developer: Vanillaware Games
ESRB: Teen

The highly acclaimed role-playing action game is finally coming to North America and Europe this year after some stellar sales numbers in Japan.

Muramasa plays and feels similar to the PS2 game, Odin Sphere. A 2-D side-scrolling beat em' up with role playing aspects and kinks. The game sports beautiful sprites and animations and once again introduces a unique style to the genre.

Mini Ninjas
Release Dates:
  • NA: September 8th, 2009
  • EU: September 11th, 2009
Price: $39.99
Developer: IO Interactive
ESRB: E +10

Although it's premise may sound overused and generic, it sports a quirky art style and interesting components that separate it from most games. You are introduced to a small, stealthy ninja by the name of Hiro who is brought up to fight the evil doers using his ninja skills

Mini Ninjas may be classified as a 3-D platforming action adventure game.

The Beatles: Rock Band
Release Dates:
  • Worldwide: September 9th, 2009
Price: $59.99
Developer: Pi Studios/Harmonix
ESRB: Teen

Who doesn't love the Beatles? The most popular band known to date is arriving on a console near you. The game's style and interface is directly influenced and designed specially for the Beatles. It will include 45 songs from 12 different Beatles albums and Harmonix has already begun announcing DLC for future songs.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Release Dates:
  • NA: September 15th, 2009
Price: $49.99
Developer: Vicarious Visions
ESRB: Teen

A sequel to the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance is ready to hit the stores. Introducing more Marvel characters and introducing the new "fusion" combo system, while still keeping the fresh, multi-player goodness found in the first. Expect it to be epic.

Dead Space: Extraction
Release Dates:
  • NA: September 29th, 2009
  • EU: October 3rd, 2009
Price: $49.99
Developer: Visceral Games, Eurocom
ESRB: Mature

The survival horror genre expands one again with the release of Dead Space: Extraction. In contrast with last year's Dead Space on the PS3 and 360, Dead Space will be an on-rails shooter. Expect new atmospheres, environments, modes, and characters. The game will also have co-op, similar to that of House of the Dead: Overkill.
