Looks like the Official Nintendo store is once again accepting orders for the component cables everyone is so desperate to find.

Currently limited to one cable per household due to limited supplies of the cables, so it might be an idea to get in quick.

As of Wednesday, November 29, 2006, we will be resuming shipments of all back orders for the Wii Component Video Cable.

hmm does that mean they're in stock or are they just accepting pre orders for the Dec 18th date that was posted before? I ordered on Tuesday and this morning it shows as processed but not shipped and backordered...

Shorthand, it makes the games like zelda more crisp, and better looking. You don't need them they just make games in HD

Its not hd. It just more resolution than the regular av cables. It will work on any tv with component inputs.

It's ED - Enhanced definition, to be precise aka 480p, aka progressive scan. The full explanation is really technical. It's the same resolution as standard definition tv, and not all tv's with component inputs support progressive scan. For more information, check this out:

Interlace - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The animation is worth a million words.

FTW - my shipped earlier this evening.

I agree my friend has an older model Magnavox that has component but it dosn't support 480p just seperates color better and doesn't look to bled.

I ordered my component cables and an official Wii DVD case on Thursday afternoon. On Friday morning I got an email saying that part of my order had shipped, but part was backordered. Of course, the portion that shipped was the DVD case, while the component cables were backordered. On Saturday morning I got confirmation that my component cables had shipped, and from the looks of it, they'll be delivered either today or tomorrow. So, if it's saying they're backordered, don't fret. This isn't the December 18th backorder time again, just wait a few days and they should ship.
