Just how good are these games? A few buddies of mine have been telling me to be a PS2 solely for MGS games.
Thoughts? Opinions?

Good series (especially MGS 1 and 3), but it's not without its problems- there's way too many cut scenes, and not enough stealth.

Quality series (though I haven't played any of the PS1 MGS games. Would absolutly love for it to come to Wii. One of the main reasons I'm planning on getting a PS3. Though it's mixed with different people, half my mates prefer MGS, other half prefer Splinter Cell.

Amazingly good! GREAT story line and very very fun. I'm a complete MGS fanatic and I loooove Snake ^.^ He's so badass
Of almost all the games, I'd recommend you play MGS

Prefer Metal gear
The first ones on MSX/NES
The MGS ones had way to many cut scenes

cutscnenes convey the storyline of the game perfectly.

They're also constantly interrupting the flow of play.
By the way- Why is it that all the bosses talk for about 20 minutes about their troubled childhoods and nuclear weapons in Siberia anyway?
