Ahh, I've been reading up about vista and apparently its much slower than xp. I'm just gonna get the vista package with my new computer and hopefully I can always downgrade to xp

I dont think vista is slow at all.... I find it faster if anything. It uses dual and quad cores ALOT better then windows xp ever could.

My new laptop came with it, its butt slow. I think I need RAM though, only have 1gig in it. I'm hoping it'll be better when I upgrade that.

Well for vista 1GB of RAM isn't much, but it also depends on your processor and your graphics card.

Basically, Vista uses 600-900 mb of ram just in idle (with all the features etc and proggy apps running in the background)

So 1 gig is not much after the system takes most of that. Doesn't leave you with much. I wouldn't recommend vista to anyone that has less then a dual core 2 gig ram

I got vista and it runs pretty good, I got 4 gigs of RAM though lol.

xp is faster though I would have it if this weren't my family's comp. . .
