Yea I got the info off the team's site, even though they don't need him to win the division.
Yeah, they don't NEED him, but he IS a great player ^_^

Tied for first in the worst division in baseball is nothing to be to proud of.

Neither is being a hater or a fanboy...first in their division is something to be VERY proud of, no matter WHAT division that is. Are the Sox first in their division? Exactly.

I didn't say that the Sox were in first, nor do I see them doing anything but lose this year. You have to live here to understand the dynamic between the Cubs and the Sox.
Out here, having a WS championship that people don't have to look into the history books for is a plus. Unless you are a Cubs fan. They always have 2003, and blame it on some poor guy when the on field play is more to blame.
Isn't the point of sports to be a fan of 'your' team? If you ask me, first in the NL Central is not that good. First there is not the same as first anywhere else, nor has it been for some time.

simply because it isn't, it doesn't have one team that has demolished the rest of the teams in the division, which makes this time of year more exciting, more on the line with every game. The AL has too many teams that are just far better than the majority of their divisions, for example the Angels, the Red Sox (and usually the Yankees), and even Cleveland (though the Tigers hung around for a while). Only team that has that type of lead in the NL would be the Mets because they have been the best team in the NL for most of the year. I love battles for playoff position, look at the NL wildcard and even the AL wildcard decent races, but to find a decent race in a division only place to look is the NL central, they are quality teams, not amazing, but not terrible either. I look forward to the rest of the season to see who keeps it together and who has their wheels fall off.
I will agree with this though

it is the point and will always be the point, I had to agree that a "fanboy" of your own team is nothing to be ashamed of, and I respect those who remain loyal to their team even when they have a bad year/season.
I have an idea tho (won't be accepted by many/if any) how bout we switch teams around to different divisions every year, that way we don't have the typical front runners in each division, just a thought.
Fan? Yes. But I prefer not to bash other teams, just promote my own =P
Other than that I'll just leave it at what blueovalboy7 said =P

Sorry LilWiiWii I let you slip through the cracks, I dislike the Braves as well, but you can't lie and tell me they aren't a quality team, though they have been very inconsistent this year
S.S. I agree bashing other teams is unnecessary, but it comes with rivalries so, I guess we'll have to live with it. I like to give my friends a hard time when my team beats theirs, like today Padres beat the Dodgers (Most people's favorite team where I'm from, not where I live) 9-4 so I have to rub it in.
Also, your boy absolutely demolished the ball tonight, two homers on his first day back from his sore elbow. Damn. Vlad may very well be a great candidate for AL MVP, while the NL is up in the air. NL Cy young should go to my boy Peavy though, just my biased, but supported opinion. AL might be either Beckett or Sabathia based on their wins/strikeouts/era.
Oh really?!? That's awesome! I didn't get to see the game last night so thanks for that! I think he deserves MVP but there's always a chance that he won't get it...we'll find out soon enough ^_^

Sorry Wiitime you're hoping for a collapse from the team who has been the most consistent out of all the AL teams this year, considering your Yankees like to get within what was it 3 or 4 and then drop back down to 7 or 8 back, pretty pathetic from the biggest payroll in the history of sports (disclaimer: I don't know if that is fact, but it sure as hell seems like it) Yes if you didn't guess it, I dislike the Yankees, for many reasons, but yes they have a lot of talent, funny what $200+ million buys you.
I like how the Rockies of all teams swept the Yankees and the Mets earlier this year, does that not tell you something? I think if the Yankees actually had some chemistry they wouldn't win less than 100 games every year, but when all you do is buy talent, no one is out to be a teammate, they're out to showcase themselves, because the NY Yankees get the most face time out of any other team in the MLB.
